About IDG

The Inner Development Goals (IDG) is a non-profit organization founded in 2020. It is an open-source initiative conceived by Ekskäret Foundation, The New Division, 29k Foundation and a group of researchers, experts and practitioners in leadership development and sustainability.

The Inner Development Goals framework investigates the specifics skills and capacities that are relevant in addressing the Sustainable Development Goals and equips individuals in living a purposeful, sustainable, and productive life.

About IDG Hub of Hong Kong

The IDG Hong Kong Community Hub* is an alliance of partner organizations and individuals in Hong Kong with a shared purpose of bringing sustainability for future generations.  Together we cross-learn, innovate, prototype, and practice the use of the IDG framework on personal and organizational development with endurance.

Our mission is to promote and nurture holistic personal development to bring positive and sustainable changes to the human challenges the city is facing, through localization of the Inner Development Goal (IDG) framework

We welcome partners who are interested in finding out how the IDG framework may assist them developing for themselves, their work, their organization or the community(s) that they are serving. Contact us for a conversation.

Movement of Inner Growth in Hong Kong

The Movement of Growth is an initiative to bring IDG to our community through a three-pronged approach: the READING BUGS (the mind), the SPREAD (the connecting heart) and the ACT (the body).

The READING BUDDY shall guide you through ‘The Limits to Growth” a seminal publication that warns us about the limit to the World’s economic and population growth capped by the finite supply of the Earth’s resources. Published more than five decades ago, this book remains relevant today and proves to withstand the test of time.

The SPREAD IDG invites you to reflect and make your commitment to growth as an inspiration. Sharing your personal growth journey not only consolidates your inner change, it also inspires others to embark on their own growth journey.

The ACT IDG is a 30-day journey during which we turn specific  IDG skills into practice through little daily tasks for habit formation.

More about the Initiative

Why Inner Development Goals

Inner Development Goals (IDGs) is a blueprint of the capabilities, qualities and skills we need in order to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We want to educate, inspire and empower people to be a positive force for change in society and find a more purposeful way to look at our lives and the lives of the people around us.

Key Milestone – Inner Development Goals Summit 2022

The inaugural IDG Summit in 2022 brought together over 800 guests incl. Otto Scharmer, Amy Edmondson, Robert Kegan, Jennifer Garvey Berger, Johan Rockström and many more to Stockholm – with thousands joining in digitally or from local hubs.

What started as an idea that emerged on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, has brought practitioners around the world into dialogue on what it means to put the Inner Development Goals really into action for the Sustainable Development Goals.

Inner Development Goals Summit 2023: Connecting the Dots

The Summit will be a 2-day exploration of the “The IDGs in Action”, taking place from October 11-12, 2023 in Stockholm. We will bring together global perspectives and get into the actual practices of working with and living the IDG Framework across the five dimensions of Being, Thinking, Relating, Collaborating, and Acting. Join us for two (or three) full days of connection, inspiration, and celebration.
